It's all about Council Members influencing policy

I think it is wrong for Council Members to appoint members of Advisory Boards  and Commissions. There should be an announcement that there is a vacancy and ALL residents should have the opportunity to nominate the Commission Members. Whomever gets the most nominations would be appointed.

The people appointed to the Advisory Boards and Commissions should also have experience in the area of the commission. To be a City Council Members requires no experience, and in fact its a good thing when they don't have any , but Advisory Boards and Commission members should.

The current method is nothing more than Council Members choosing people to further their agenda, much like Trump has done, to include his family.

We are a Democracy, not a Kingdom. Lets start acting like it.
